A relatively quiet spell has seen local runners represented
at four races recently.
At the Park
Hall 5k race held in Oswestry, there were finishing times of 23.25mins and
25.27mins achieved by the Bro Dysynni A.C. duo of Barrie Jackson of Bala
and Malcolm Taylor of Criccieth whilst club team-mate, Brenda Jones of
Llanelltyd, gained her customary victory in the female over-65 category as she
completed the National Trust Erddig 5 Mile Multi-Terrain event in 41.48mins.
Adam Haynes
of Rhyd continued his excellent turn-out at the 14th Peak
Tuesday Night Fell Race Series by completing the Ras Dau Lyn event in Cwm Silyn
in 32.15mins, which earnt an excellent 3rd place finish on the evening. After
seven of the eight race series, the Meirionnydd Running Club member currently
sits in 4th place overall whilst also leading in the male over-40
category.
Finally,
there was an excellent local turnout recently at the Aberystwyth Race For Life
5k. Amongst those raising money for Cancer Research UK were the mother and daughter
team of Eirlys Griffiths of Tywyn and Cerys Jones of Blaenau Ffestiniog. On
this occasion, daughter led home mother in respective times of 30.40mins and
31.33mins. Also completing the event was another Bro Dysynni A.C. athlete, as
Helen Williams of Aberdyfi crossed the finishing line in 32.11mins.
