A team of 12 Bro Dysynni athletes travelled up the Conwy Valley on Saturday to compete in the Twin Piers 10k run between Colwyn Bay and Llandudno.
In a race won comfortably by Bill Crowther (Altrincham) in a time of 32.39mins, the Tywyn based club did have the honour of winning the ladies section of the race, Paula Jeffs winning for the second year in succession in a time of 39.47mins. Running into a headwind for the majority of the 6.2 mile course, other Bro Dysynni competitors with age group awards in brackets were as follows; Alun Williams, 5th overall in 35.36mins, Malcolm Taylor (1st male over-55) in 40.43mins, Graeme Stringer in 43.07mins, Huw Harrison in 43.44mins, Colin Evans in 45.36mins, Andrea Goode in 46.06mins, Adrian Bennett in 47.39mins, Andy Unwin in 49.37mins, Debbie Evans (3rd female over-40) in a personal best time of 50.16mins, Mike Stevens in 51.20mins and Marjorie Griffiths (2nd female over-50) in 55.50mins.
On Sunday, two club runners took part in a Border League fixture, Nigel Evans came home in 60th place in a time of 37.28mins with Glenda Davies back in 44.16mins.
This Saturday sees the fourth fixture in the North Wales Cross Country League at Wrexham, an important fixture for the ladies team, very much in the running for medals and also for Adrian Bailey, already victorious in two of the three fixtures and looking to retain his North Wales Cross Country Championship.
Club runners will also be in action on Sunday in the Four Villages Half Marathon.
