Hello Andy,
Thanks for your message and photos.
I am writing on behalf of the 3 teams from the Abergele Harriers Running Club, Union Sportif Roissy Athletique
and Barmstedter MTV.
I have been inundated with e-mails from members of our visiting teams who like ourselves were very
impressed with our day out in Tywyn.
They were extremely honoured by the personal attention to detail, particularly announcements in their own
language.
Apart from taking trophies they had earned, they were also impressed with the special trophy they received.
This was the 20th year of Twinning between the Colwyn Twinning Association and the Roissy en Brie
Twinning Association, as well as the 20th anniversary of the Bird Rock, so it was all quite fitting.
Our running clubs are celebrating with a trilogy of Races in 2006. The first was the Paris Marathon, last month, the second was the Bird Rock Half Marathon and the third will be the Berlin Marathon in September - a busy year.
This was my first bird rock event, so the course affected me in the same way it affected our guests.
It was absolutely stunning. I can't believe I've missed out for so long. I will be a regular from now on.
I was so impressed with the course that I returned to it yesterday, with camera and walked the loop. You only look at the road or the runner in front in a race if you are going for it, so it was nice to relax and look around.
Our visitors insisted on being taken to the "Rock" on the way home for a group photo!!
Your race was well organised, the results were announced quickly and efficiently and the event had a charm about it that larger events cannot provide. It was a perfect day in a perfect weekend. It was also a personal pleasure to meet Alan Morton and hear of his extraordinary running career - unbelievable.
On behalf of all then a sincere thank you to all your committee for a lovely day.
See you next year,
Alan Taylor
